courtesy of these guys.

-Speaking of which, my brand new interview with Obie Trice is now up on About.com.

-Fergie tops the Hot 100 with “London Bridge.” Proof that music fans are weird.

-Common’s busy doing this instead of working on trying to pull off another klutzily titled, faux-classic.

-Speaking of classics, read this article before appending that label to your favorite albums.

-Terror threat ensures that Beyonce won’t be going to the U.K. anytime soon.

-MTV Slammed for racist cartoon showing Black women on leashes. The real culprit here should be Snoop Dogg and every other artist who gives MTV an excuse to insult the Black community.

-According to 1280 people, the future of Hip-Hop is in the hands of this man.

that poll is not at all accurate. did you all interview a bunch of people from compton or something? t.i. and lil wayne should have been on top along with juelz and jeezy somewhere on there. lupe is tight, but i think it’s too soon to say he is part of the future of hip hop. and as for papoose, he’s clean too, but he hasn’t even put out an album yet.

    Frankster04,
Those votes came in from all around the world, not just Compton.
I think people just started developing an awkward affinity for Game because of the whole 50 Cent saga. Hip-hop fans are fickle, they tend to root for the underdog until the underdog becomes a bulldog. Then, they replace him with a new underdog. 50 was liked by many when he first dropped.

the game is decent, but future of hip hop? come on man. 50 consistently ripped him on the diss tracks. he stole shyne’s flow and tried to pass it off on his own. and what the hell is up with that tattoo on his face? the documentary was off the hook, but am i the only one that thinks this guy exhibits some questionable behavior?

Don’t get me wrong, Game isn’t perfect. The namedropping gets annoying, plus his flow is still a work-in-progress, but he knows what works for him and sticks with it. He’s also what I like to call an “occasional lyricist.” I agree with GZA that not many rappers would think to spin the “Stevie Wonder” line on “Dreams” the way Game did.

My point is that he just became more likeable because of the beef with 50, which might explain 50% of the people rooting for him.
