More evidence that Hip-Hop Is Dead is our last hope left for an exceptional rap album this quarter.

UPDATE: Contrary to earlier reports, “Hustlers” (aka QB True G’s) will be on the final version of Hip-Hop Is Dead. A Def Jam insider confirmed this to me earlier today. According to my source, the track was renamed after Marsha Ambrosius was brought in to deliver the chorus.

    PS I think Dre and Game worked together on Game’s album; at least partially or indirectly through intermediates. There is no way Dre is releasing this song, with all his power and have Game on it, if he really did have beef with Game. I’am almost positive that Dre would have a heavy say whether to release this track or not, there is only one Dr. Dre in Hip hop…Nuff said.

    Dre and 50 Cent are behaving like idiots business-wise. Even with his “measly” gold album’s worth in sales, it was stupid to let The Game go. Add Dre and 50 to the mix, and that album goes 2x platinum.

    That said, *poof* goes Doctor’s Advocate from this week’s Soundscan…..

    Hip-hop *is* dead, because we’re all tired of this shit.

    And Jay-Z’s album – pure rubbish – tops the charts. There are two decent tracks on that album — Lost One and Kingdom Come — and one was a MySpace hand out.
