I didn’t read the whole article in the link (cause I didnt feel like signing up), but I don’t think that is what it’s actually about..

Not like black folk really cared either way (at least speaking for myself). If I never liked your product it didn’t matter who rapped to promote it, I wouldn’t cop. Simple as that..

Yeah, they figured in 5 years he’ll be 36 and maybe want to move on to coaching. Did you catch the Man U/Newcastle game two days ago? Rooney is ill and all but Man-U has never been the same without Beckham.

I think Beckham brought a certain calmness and poise man to the team..that will truly be missed..

Thing is Beckham to me always looked like he was eye-ing America, the vast opportunities. You always want to go to a place where you feel ‘wanted’ and ‘needed’ and I guess in a sense they ‘want’ and ‘need’ someone of his stature who can give American soccer some validation. Which really will take time..I think until soccer is in the upper echelon of the tri-unity of sports in this country a la football, baseball and basketball the U.S won’t be recognised in the same way other countries are about the sport.

    ^True words.

What makes it even better is that Beckham has already proved himself in two of the world’s most competitive leagues: Premiership & La Primera. So it ain’t like he’s just taking the easy route.
