I’m still waiting for folks to label me ‘crazy’ for ranking The Teacha so high up on my Top 50 List. Everytime I hear him wreck the mic, I forgive him a little for all that crazy cock-diesel sh*t he’s been talking lately.

Dude is still the illest freestyle freestyle MC alive…well that’s until Nelly un-retires. I keed! I keed!!

Man. I need more KRS in my life. get that man some dope beats STAT.

I am, oddly, reminded of a line from the Japanese epic novel “The Tale of Genji.” In it the Emperor’s second son, Genji, is exiled when he’s in his late teens/early 20s, for some court intrigue. He vanishes for a little while, and when he comes back rises back up to the top of the royal game, so to speak. Later, there is a painting contest, and he displays stuff he painted while in exile.

Murakami writes something along the lines of this: “As soon as the paintings from his Exile were displayed, the contest was over. There stood in front of them exhibits that could have only been made by a master with infinite time to work.”

Such is that KRS freestyle. I can only imagine that everyday since he’s been out of the lime light his mind has just been moving like that, flowing and rhyming non stop. I wonder if it’s like a different language for him, if speaking normal, non rhyming, no sick ass flow, is odd for a guy like that. Must be.

    Much fucking love.

Austin, that’s a powerful analogy. You’re right–hip-hop is more like a second language to Kris..
