I have nothing short of respect for uncle Todd (unlike Jim Jones, I don’t disrespect my elders). After all, LL is still No.1 on longevity. But longevity doesn’t sell records or earn you trophies in today’s battleground.

It wasn’t enough to blame Jay-Z for his last album, which tanked heavily, Cool J is now getting all emotional over Jay’s “billy the goat” line from “I Get Money (Forbes 1,2,3 Remix).”

Maybe someone needs to remind uncle Todd that:

1) While he’s definitely in the upper echelons, no one outside of his immediate family really bought into that GOAT claim
2) This isn’t 1987. That was 20 years ago.
3) Jay-Z is no Canibus. Not only is Hov ahead of today’s LL in all the vital categories (except longevity, of course), he’s also become a big enchilada in the game. So, blackballing Jay like he did ‘Bis is definitely not an option in 2007.

In any case, this should be an exciting one, assuming Jay agrees to play. He’s been reluctant about responding to shots lately.

    I never said Nas wasn’t on his level, I think Jay and Nas are the two best out. I like both rappers, but IMO Jay is better, he’s more consistent and his flow suits my style more so than Nas. And, I also felt like people didn’t really disect ‘Takeover’ and ‘Ether’. I still prefer ‘Takeover’ over ‘Ether’, I think Jay makes more valid points, that’s all.

    You went from Hovito to Dynasty, so you still throwing the ROC sign in the air? Cool.

    I Think ether was a dope diss track and he had some lines that killed Jay.

    Jay referenced Nas falling off which was a fact, Nas referenced Jay biting and liking his style Jay admitted it by saying illmatic was dope and then he fell off so Nas had no argument there.

    you guys are funny. jay z was a nobody until his style of rap took off in the mid to late 90′s.ll on the other hand came out over 20 yrs ago and ruled hip hop for years until he fell off after his first battle with moe dee. ll came back and destroyed moe dee with til da break of dawn. he did this by changing his style to match the times. this is something ll still does to this day. For jay z to even qualify to be nominated G.O.A.T. he has to prove he can rise to the top when his style isnt the current flavor in hip hop, in other words sell records, and rock crowds outside his era as ll did in the 90′s, and today. by the way only one mc has been able to consistantly sell records while not only keeping his chosen style through the years, despite having no air play at all due to his lyrics. this in my opinion makes Too Short the G.O.A.T.
