Video: LL Getting at Jay?

I have nothing short of respect for uncle Todd (unlike Jim Jones, I don’t disrespect my elders). After all, LL is still No.1 on longevity. But longevity doesn’t sell records or earn you trophies in today’s battleground.

It wasn’t enough to blame Jay-Z for his last album, which tanked heavily, Cool J is now getting all emotional over Jay’s “billy the goat” line from “I Get Money (Forbes 1,2,3 Remix).”

Maybe someone needs to remind uncle Todd that:

1) While he’s definitely in the upper echelons, no one outside of his immediate family really bought into that GOAT claim
2) This isn’t 1987. That was 20 years ago.
3) Jay-Z is no Canibus. Not only is Hov ahead of today’s LL in all the vital categories (except longevity, of course), he’s also become a big enchilada in the game. So, blackballing Jay like he did ‘Bis is definitely not an option in 2007.

In any case, this should be an exciting one, assuming Jay agrees to play. He’s been reluctant about responding to shots lately.

    at this point in hip-hop Todd is way below Jay even caring what he has to say, LL just trying to get some buzz 4 his next record(which will suck like the last one). It seems as soon as niccaz go to G-unit they start talking reckless, Fiddy must have some special Thug cookies these niccaz snacking on.

    I’m a fan of both, so it’ll be interesting if this actually goes down.

    If Jay plays along then this could be the second resurrection of LL, because just like it was stated before, his last album wasn’t any good.

    Why is your name Hovito? I’ve debating this for a while and I’ve read both lyrics. IMO, what Jay says about Nas making up stories, falling off, having 1 classic album, selling out is more relevant that what Nas says about Jay biting lines, being a stan, looks and whatnot.

    If Jay took Nas’ style than why isn’t Nas bigger than Jay? When Jordan surpassed Magic didn’t he say he was the best, why shouldn’t Jay? Hip-Hop is a competition, like Em said “a plaque and platinum status is wack if I’m not the baddest.” Nas samples Pac who dissed Jay, but Pac also dissed Nas, so how does that make any sense. Nas spits “You traded your soul for riches”, so what was ‘Ochie Wally’? Now, those riches are helping people. I’ll say ‘Ether’ was a hot song, but content wise not better than ‘Takeover’, Jay made better points. I don’t really see anything that Nas said as relevant b/c it’s the same shit people have been talking about Jay for years b/c they hate the man on top, someone please break it down.
