I get skeptical whenever I see vol. 2 on an album title. The reality is that attempts to recreate successful records always end up being futile. With the exception of a handful of LPs like Fantastic 2 and maybe Carter 2, I can’t think of many Vol. 2s that have done well. (I’m looking at you, Shawn.) That said, I have some high expectations for Carnival II. Hopefully Clef will pick the right collaborators (his albums have always been about the guests, anyway) and keep his rusty ass guitar out of the way.

    The Volume II and related tactics are pretty stupid.

    It immediately undermines the fact that it’s a new album and, in the long run, makes it confusing for people who aren’t serious fans.
