Today is the 3rd anniversary of the 3rd best double album in hip-hop history, Street’s Disciple (Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and All Eyez on Me hold the 1 & 2 two positions respectively, imo). So, allow me to indulge in a bit of throwback stannery.

    I would say Wu-Tang Forever would probably the best. And Biggie’s Life After Death is definitely better than Street’s Disciple.

    I dissagree with You about Streets Disciple I think it would of been a classic if it was a one disc cus it did have some great tracks but it had some average tracks aswell.

    I think All Eyes On Me and Life After Death were way better.

    LAD would tie SD for the No.3 slot and Wu-Tang Forever would definitely make my top 5.

    I’m still waiting on some random Jay-Z fan to come here and say some outlandish sh*t about Blueprint 2.

    Both All Eyez on Me and Life After Death are mad overrated. They both had crazy filler if you go back and listen again. Street’s Disciple is not a classic per se, but it’s bold, compassionate, compelling, and raw as f*ck.

    I didn’t like Speakerboxxx at all…..I thought that entire half was wack aside from maybe 3 or 4 tracks…..

    Street’s Disciple was nice, don’t get me wrong. But Life After Death deserves to be up there man….

    Which tracks do you think are filler?

    That bridging the gap remix goes to show you how a dope beat could of helped many of nas’ songs. You know his flow is always up to par but sometimes I question his beat selection…. He’s still the GOAT though.

    Has any double album really been good though?

    Even Jay knew BP2 had its bout with filler hence BP 2.1

    It’s really difficult to do a double album and have it be perfect. I think Wu-tang forever leads the pack…and let’s not get it twisted AOOM had its filler moments..

    Good look. That Street’s Disciple joint has been one of my favorite CD’s since it came out. “Remember The Times”, “Theif’s Theme”, “American Way”, “These Are Our Heroes”, “Live Now”, “Reason” …

    Mad joints on this CD set. The fact that NaS’s lazy ass* only did two video’s 4 it kinda’ pisses me off but its always two or three with dude.

    Mmm… i rate Speakerboxx/Love Below as Outkast’s weakest moment (maybe next to Idelwild). Big Boi’s half was nice, Dre’s half was interesting but with little replay value, overall pretty good, but not by ‘Kast standards. Big Boi+Andre > Big Boi or Andre imo.

    SD is mad underrated, but better than LAD or WTF? Not in my book. And Chaz raises a valid point, UGK definitley deserves a spot in the double album top 5.
