‘Carter III’ Not As Popular As 1st Week Sales Indicated

So, Tha Carter III took a humongous 70% dip the 2nd week on Billboard. How do you go from 1.1 million in one week to 350k the next? I guess that confirms my suspicion that Wayne’s label bought half of those CDs to give people the perception that Tha Carter III is a must-have album. We all know that much of the music industry — not just hip-hop — thrives on perception. Of course I’m recklessly speculating here, but it’s not entirely impossible. Hell, everyone I talked to prior to Carter III‘s release either owned a bootleg or had no interest in picking up the album.

So, who bought all those CDs?

    On the serious tip, Wayne been working hard since Tha Hotboys so give it up for the man damn. Been my favorite rapper for a long while now but now that he’s regarded as the best ppl wanna say this and that. He’s definately not garbage and thats a FACT. The Carter III sold out da ass and it should have. Everybody been waiting on the shit to come out for a minute. So clap it up for the man cuz guess what…YOU CAN’T DO IT!

    They already rich. They rather get a big-head and diss other rappers about the fact they got a Platinum Album than money now. And they still made, and like he said, tours give more. We all know artists get like 1-5% of the sales of albums. At best, 5% of 1 100 000 is 55 000$ … they don’t giva fk about that.

    This sounds like something that could’ve happenned but we will never know.
