Since everyone was loving the Rmxxology posts, I’ve decided to bless you with one more. It’s Philippians’ remix of Pharcyde’s “Running.” Unlike Eminem’s humdrum rendition of “Slaughtahouse,” they didn’t butcher this hip-hop classic. If anything, they traced the original drum pattern and threw in some synthetic sounds. Completely altering the beat halfway also allows the song to inhabit a somewhat different personality.
It’s incredibly challenging to reconstruct an already perfect track, so I give them props for concocting one hell of a remix here. This version sounds as fresh today as the original “Running” did more than a decade ago.
