Freebie Friday: Joell Ortiz & Termanology – Carry the Torch Mixtape

A friend of mine who happens to be a respected journalist surprised me 3 days ago when he asked: “Dude, do you think Termanology is worth a shit?” “Are you serious?” I replied, “He’s one of the freshest “new” rappers around.” My boy wrote back to say that he wasn’t a big fan. I insisted that he should at least listen to Term and let me know what he thought.

Dude hit me up again later that evening with a different opinion. “I would like to change my aforementioned opinion of Termanology,” he said. “He’s dope.”

Termanology is not a household name, but he definitely deserves some attention. If you’re like my boy (don’t worry, man, I won’t put you on blast), who didn’t know much about Term’s music, this mixtape gives you a wonderful opportunity to familiarize yourself with not one, but two, visionary MCs.

    Rizoh, I agree with your friend. That dude Term is WAY overrated IMHO if you can call getting cosigned by a few rap blogs & websites being overrated. Dude’s voice and flow are just OK at best to me.

    I wasn’t fucking with Term that much at first but after listening to his last mixtape it’s fair to say he’s got skill and would destroy alot of other rappers. Don’t get me wrong he aint fucking with Joell but the kid can spit.
