Rizoh’s Radio 31: Evens & Odds

Funny how situations sometimes find a way to sort themselves out. For RR 31, I was going to drop about 15 – 20 (instead of 31) songs for lack of sufficient quality material. But in the last couple of days of working on the compilation, a flurry of hot new songs started raining like confetti.

Thematically, this is a continuation of the balancing act concept I introduced on RR 30: Savage Bounce. It’s a balanced mix of laid-back cuts (“Bring It Back”) and feisty head-nodders (“What’s Up Everywhere”), sensible (“Feel”) vs. ign’ant (“What Them Girls Like”), lighthearted (“That Oprah”) vs. dead serious (“My Life”), short (“DJ Premier Tribute” — 1min, 56 sec.) vs. incredibly long (“Who” — 15 mins, 57 sec.). Evens and odds.

Check it out, download, bump in your iPod and system. Let me know which joints are dope and which
ones are doo doo.

Bonus:
Amp Live explains the grueling process behind “The Baskervilles” remix.
