Why Jay-Z Dumped Timbaland for Kanye West

A couple months ago when word of Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 first leaked, Timbaland announced to the world that he was producing the entire album. “I’m making a classic,” Timbaland boldly stated, cracking up a smile. “You better believe it’s going to be a monster.” Well, it looks like Jay-Z has told Tim to shove that monster up his ass and replaced him with some guy named Kanye West who will now be the primary sound architect for Blueprint 3. Here are 7 possible reasons why Jay-Z dumped Timbaland for Kanye.

  1. Jay-Z cares about his image too much to risk being seen with a steroid user.
  2. Being the hood’s Barack, Jay couldn’t share the spotlight with a Hillraiser
  3. Timbo wants to bring sexy back. Jay would much rather bring gangsta back.
  4. It would’ve been the most expensive album in hip-hop history
  5. Kanye threw a hissy fit when Tim’s name came up in discussion
  6. Jay would rather make another album with Kells than have JT all over his CD
  7. Timbaland can’t do this.

    i personally just think that timbaland is not as relevant to hip hop anymore, so jay don’t wanna use him. not to take anything away from him, timbo makes some solid beats, but when has he done anything hip hop or rap related? now, in addition to rhymes, cds are being copped because premo or alchemist is doing a beat on a track. hip pop is the taking over the world by storm and timbo, JT and whoever else (soulja boy could be put in this genre imo) and there’s not much we can do as a collective.
    on an aside, kanye is starting to come up to society as representing hip hop and so jay wants to run with kanye instead of tim. that is how i’m looking at this.

    I personally think he wanted to stay within the blueprint trend and use Kanye, who did a number of classics on blueprint 1 an instant classic!

    lol that top 7 was hilarious! yeezy might have a lot of mouth but at the end of the day i respect that dude’s production so i’m interested to see how the album’s gonna sound. although, i must confess i’m not feelin’ that new single that jigga and ‘ye performed at ye’s concert. i’m hoping that single is this album’s blue magic and that rest of the album will be NICE like a jay album should be.
