  I honestly don’t think that the 2K series for basketball has much to do for improvement. i think it’s the most fluid basketball game out right now and it should rightfully take on the mentality that ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’

  as for nba live, until people stop gliding around the court like they’re on skates, let me know. i hear big things for nba live this year, but i’m still not into that. 2K FTW!

  2k and Live aren’t comparable if your talking about detail and playability. 2k is the thinking man’s hoops game, while live is b-ball for dummies… To be real I scored 217 points with phoenix in live 07 in five minute quarters on superstar… I decided right there im never touching live again.

  I bought both 2K8 and NBA Live 08 and compared them for about a week. I sold my NBA Live. 2k8 was way more realistic and fluid in my opinion. I’m die-hard 2k fan though. Even Madden has slipped a bit IMO.

  The people have spoken. Looks like I’ll be sticking with 2K.

  I just want to point out what I meant by 2K8 wasn’t much of an improvement: 2K8 wasn’t that different in terms of functionality. I guess I want subsequent versions of my games to be significantly different from older versions to justify the purchase. But I shouldn’t really be complaining about this, as I didn’t even have to pay for it.
