New ‘Notorious’ Trailer, Still Looks Crappy

Gravy (Jamal Woolard) can pass for Biggie. He’s got Biggie’s attitude and mannerisms down to an art. I give him that. Everything else about Notorious looks hokey. It looks like a BET-esque made-for-TV movie (and I use that term loosely) that you would get at a gas station for free if you bought $5 worth of gas. Bottom line: It looks mad cheesy. I doubt that this will do his legacy any justice.

    How come Derek Luke is playin’ Puffy? Sure he’s talented but he looks & sounds nothing like Puff.
    Same with Anthony Mackie.

    From adapting “Max Payne” from a video to a movie.
    To “X-Men: The Last Stand”

    Seriously, considering how studious they were with getting the minor details right (at least based on an EPK I saw about the movie a few weeks back), the poor casting of the leads really boggles the mind and undermines this project: Gravy don’t really look or sound much like BIG (they should have cast Gorilla Black), dude playing Puff looks nothing like him and Angela Bassett doesn’t look or sound like BIG’s Jamaican-born moms. This could have been great but it looks like a major miss from my pov.
