Apparently, both the world and his rims are spinning.
That’s all I got out of that.

Usually I agree with your opinions Rizoh, but not here. Jeezy’s album was a mixed bag, but the good ish was definitely worth it. I think it’s worth acknowledging that he went from a pure trap rapper, moving into more relevant topics. Sure there was stuff like “Welcome Back” where it was the same ol’ jeezy. But this song is a good example of him starting to get into more relevant topics towards society.
Also it’s worth noting that he has lyrically stepped up his game. Which, I know isn’t saying much, with how bad he was before. But still. He could’ve very well had a JR Rotem-produced first single featuring T-Pain and Lil Wayne and sold more records.
But he’s attempting to grow as an artist, and I look at this album as, potentially at least, a stepping stone to his advancement as an artist.

Jeezy himself is not wack. His approach — duplicating the same formula over and over — is what I have a problem with. And I’m not buying this “oh he’s rapping about social issues” excuse either. Everyone raps about social issues these days, so that doesn’t make him an outstanding MC.

you don’t need to be an outstanding mc to make entertaining music; the second half of the Recession is very good
