Last week, Stephen Colbert launched Operation Humble Kanye in an attempt to try and top the high-handed Mr. West on iTunes. Colbert urged viewers of The Colbert Report to purchase his Christmas CD on iTunes so that he could overtake Kanye, whose 808s & Heartbreak sat comfortably atop the iTunes Albums Chart at the time. Colbert’s album was at No. 16. At stake is the title “Voice of Our Generation.”

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, it looks like Operation Humble Kanye has succeeded. Though A Colbert Christmas hasn’t made it to No.1 yet, it surpassed 808s & Heartbreak. As of this writing (4:00 PM), A Colbert Christmas jumped 14 spots to No. 2 while 808s & Heartbreak dropped 3 spots down to No. 4.

Ladies and Gents, it’s official: Britney Spears is now the “Voice of Our Generation”

Now if only Colbert will tell his readers to visit The Rap Up.
