Jay-Z + Radiohead = Jaydiohead

Just when you thought we left blends and mashups behind in 2004, some dude named Minty Fresh has gone and merged Jay-Z a cappellas with Radiohead instrumentals. “No Hook” meets “Karma Police”; “Lucifer” meets “Jigsaw Falling Into Place”; “Dirt off Your Shoulder” meets “Paranoid Android”; etc. Some of these are dope (“Wrong Prayer”), but the bad ones are really bad (Jay-Z rhyming offbeat on “Fall In Step”?). Give it a listen and let me know if it’s yea or nay.

    Coming from a big fan of Jay and Radiohead, this was pretty forgettable. Unlike most good mixes, there’s really no effort that goes past throwing Jay-Z vocals over untouched Radiohead beats, with nothing done to alter anything into cohesion.

    You’re kidding right? I mean, I don’t love the thing in whole, but there are tracks with redone instrumentation and changed tempos. Don’t drop words like “untouched” without listening to the whole album – that shit is dangerous.
