Wouldn’t you know that Ron Artest isn’t just the worst player in the NBA, he’s also the dirtiest player in basketball. Need proof? Peep this video where his throat viciously attacks Kobe Bryant’s elbow.

Of course, the refs turned a blind eye (like they did when Shane Battier’s face attacked Kobe’s knee and elbow in Game 1). So, Ron Ron being Ron Ron decided to take matters into his hands. He ran over to Kobe to try and calm him down and whoa hey, Joey Crawford threw him out of the game with the quickness.
Ron Artest

Not to be outdone, Scola and Fisher put on a show worthy of Broadway. Jump to 3:45 to see the theatrical scene.

At the end of the night, Kobe led all scorers with 40, but Artest had the best post-game quote: “You’re hitting the wrong person. Don’t you know you’re hitting Ron Artest?”

BONUS CLIP:

Here’s ex-Rocket PG Rafer Alston slapping Eddie House for being too giddy after making 8 consecutive shots.

Actually, I like this remix better:

I’m interested to see how this plays in the media today. It seems that if you are involved in any “negative” incident as a sports figure, then you will be tarnished with that stain for life. Ron is prolly the only person in the league to get tossed that quick over something like that.

It’s not about how you play the game. It’s about winning. I’d like to see a replay of the Kobe spin from another angle though, preferably a shot from the floor that faces Kobe. From the back, it just looks like a quick spin to get the rebound, not an intentional hook to the neck.

Bottom line: Lakers played gully yesterday because they were pissed about the Game One loss.

fantastic answer by Ron. He should win an award for his attitude reformation.

That being said, refs are reactionary and they assume that he’s going to get into some gangsta shit. That’s why they keep him on a short leash. did it to himself.

The playoffs are rigged to make it Kobe and LeBron in the finals. Of course the refs and the league will be biased to help Kobe. Kobe will get no punishment out of this.

I agree with ‘Go Rockets’. Kobe is a good player, but he cries like a baby a lot. He needs to grow some balls. Should be a great series.

Houston is in the drivers seat in this series. They stole a game in Los Angeles (The Rockets were only 20-21 on the road in the reg. season). Now, they get to go back home to Houston, where they were 33 and 8 during the regular season. They won’t lose both at home. The worst they will do is split. So at the worst the series will be 2-2 going to L.A.. but it could very easily be Rockets up 3-1.

  • wow

    Lakers are gay!

    Thank you, Captain Obvious!

i understand making a clevertitle… but let’s be real, they were scrappin and clawing and kobe threw an elbow into artest’s chest. artest can’t try to punk guys left and right and then b*tch and moan about someone getting too agressive on a boxout. this is qb’s true warrior?

  • 123GO!

I actually agree with Ron. It’s like if you breath on Kobe or a Laker the officials will call it a foul. I’m tired of the league giving Kobe special treatment. Kobe is a punk, he talks too much trash and try to fight when he knows he will get his behind whipped. Ron should know by now how Lakers and the Celtics get special treatments with the refs.

  • ctekinc

Come on. Every foul that was called after that was a ticky tack foul against the lakers…to say the refs favoring the lakers is ridiculous. If they wanted the Lakers to win they wouldn’t have stopped the clock every possession for a rocket free throw. And crawford is a horrible ref….both ways.

  • Edge

LOL, even the rockets fans are crybabies.

Kobe is a great player, he doesn’t need or should get any help. Yet, every time he misses he looks to the refs to bail him out-calling a foul that didn’t happen. The refs really protect him, calling any little brush a foul. And they try to compare him to Micheal Jordan?? When Jordan played, the rules were different, he would get beat up by Detroit and still scored like crazy without whining to the refs every other play. I miss the NBA game from that era

LOL I love it. Kobe elbows Artest in the throat and Artest get’s ejected. I love the NBA.

  • Kabuki Relle

Absolute co-sign to kert. Kobe showed his true bitch nature last night and he is always looking for a foul when he misses.

  • Backra

It’s quite simple to dissect. Kobe is comparable to a spoiled child, who whine cry’s then grows up to be on rape charges. He believes he is NBA royalty entitled to every and anything . One can only be crowned by your peers through all around respect. He needs to learn from MJ and especially from King James.

  • Artests Sucks

Did anyone care to mention Ron Artests pushing down on Kobe’s head during the box out?

  • sdasd

That should’ve been a foul on Kobe, it wasn’t, but the thing is, you’re going to get ejected when you scream at the ref (1 T) and walk up to another player and talk in his face (the second T). I know Kobe should’ve gotten the foul, but Artest dug his own hole by doing that. 2 technicals = an ejection, thats why he was ejected.

And about the Alston and Fisher ejections. I understand Fish’s suspension, but Alston’s suspension makes no sense. House gives him a tap in the rib/abs, so Alston slaps him. In my view, thats one T thats it, not a suspension. I’m still surprised that the NBA suspends slaps in the back of the head and hard elbowed running through the pick, but doesn’t suspend Rondo for chucking people into the scorer’s table. Like Phil Jackson said, its too inconsistent..

  • suck it

    basketball sucks

  • LOL

Kobe had inside position. You cannot put an elbow to a players head and keep pushing him. IF you rocket fans want to see the foul in that, that was the call. Of course Kobe elbow’d him, but the foul was before that and artest was called for it. Its the playoffs. From kobe’s words “If you play physical, expect physical back”.

NBA made it a flagrant one. Artest was ejected, because he pulled an “Artest”

    GTFO Biased article. Go Lakers.

It doesn’t matter that Kobe had the inside position. That means nothing. You can box out from any position. The ONLY way inside position matters is in the case of jumping for a rebound, and the guy with the outside position would reach over your back to grab the rebound. That’s a foul. Boxing out from the outside position is not a foul.

And Artest didn’t elbow Kobe’s head.. his forearm was put on the back of his neck for a second. He removed his forearm before he started actually boxing out. That isn’t a foul. They were just fighting for position. The intentional elbow by Kobe was not just fighting for position. It was done on purpose.

  • LOL

Once again, for a sec or a microsecond, you cannot push a player with your elbow behind the head.

Jockeying for position by using your elbow behind is someone’s head is a foul.

I understand that all you houston fans want Kobe ejected, but the foul was first committed by artest and any guy would retaliate if someone was intentionally hurting them.

I am not justifying Kobe’s elbow, i am justfying Artest pulling an “artest” and running after players.

AND the NBA made it a flagrant one. Its playoff folks, stop crying conspiracy at everything.

  • LOL

And i like how u said “Artest just put his forearm behind kobe’s head” with supple gentle compassion..LOL
