Pete Rock invented the remix. No questions about it. What made a PR remix so unique was his ability to disassemble a song — regardless of genre — and rebuild it with entirely new elements. More often than not, Pete Rock’s remixes eclipsed the OG version. As part of our ongoing Pete Rock & CL Smooth Day celebration, I’ve compiled a small sample of PR’s timeless remixes.
