Soulja Boy Threatens to Quit Rap

Soulja Boy had some frustration to get off his chest on Wednesday night, so he launched into a 2-hour Twitter tirade about “crackers” (a far cry from his earlier stance on massa) and his struggles as an artist. I stepped aside for a few minutes only to come back and see that Soulja Boy had deleted all the “cracker” comments. He later attributed the change of heart to some “good advice” he received from Tyrese over the phone. Let me guess, Tyrese told him that if he doesn’t remove those crazy comments he’ll be working at Taco Bell in 6 months.

Good thing Celebtwitter cached the tweets. Rappers never learn, do they? If you don’t want people to know how you feel, never ever ever put it online.

    I watched the debacle on youtube between Souljaboi and Ice-T and couldn’t believe the audacity of a young kid trying to “punch” an “OG” in the face, granted it was some choregraphed Jackie Chan Interweb moves that merely glanced off Ice-T’s Bullshit Meter. To say I am bereft at the thought of Souljaboi wanting to leave the RAP industry is an understatement. I sit here wondering to myself “whatever shall I do?” The music industry will crumble without Souljaboi’s inspirational and controversial lyrics.

    I am an african american female and I no longer listen to rap because of what is has become…..I listen to positive music only!!!!..When rap was first introduced…it was about feeling good and partying without any violence (Sugar Hill Gang Rapper’s delight)(One of my all time favorites!)…Then some MC’s decided to take it a little further by sending a message…letting people know what we were dealing with daily living in the ghetto… (The Message..Grandmaster Flash and the furious five)….We had uplifting rap artist (Queen Latifah, KRS one, MC Lyte amongst others)…..That was real RAP!!!…What has happened to this creative artform???…Look what it’s become….booty shaking. gun carrying, getting high disrespectful fools ..and you all glorify this????..Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and have a a right to love their on genre of music but, I have a problem when we get these no talent one hit wonders that make money and find out they have no talent and have nothing to fall back on….People wake up!!….Get an education….GO TO SCHOOL!!!!..Educate yourselves and don’t let the street educate you… Pick up a book sometimes so when you post on blogs ..you can spell simple words and show you’re an above average person instead of showing how ignorant you are….
