I was talking to a friend a couple days ago and he asked me if I thought Drake had anything left in the tank now that he’s exhausted his mixtape hits. I’m not sure if “Forever” is the answer to that question, but it’s close enough. It’s pretty much this year’s “Swagga Like Us.”

“Forever” is set to appear on the upcoming Lebron James documentary, More Than a Game.

I’m not a fan of Drake at all. He really doesn’t sing well and his rhymin’ is only average…that said, the song is alright. Em is crazy.

Whoever decided to put Drake and Eminem on the same record must really want Drake’s career over STAT. Also, this is only this year’s Swagga Like Us if you’re willing to say that “this year” means “boring hooks” and “pedestrian beats.”

Maybe the actual problem is the tone of the song. Swagga was hot because the message was current. It was about who those people were, what they had, and what others didn’t. This is a track about getting to where they are, and to quote (of all people) Patton Oswalt:”I don’t care about where the stuff I like comes from, I just care about the stuff I like.”

To talk about what you have is the action of a master morality, and to speak in passive tone about what you had to face is of the slave morality. Nietzsche would be upset at you boys. (Except Em, that dude killed it.)

This song is a perfect picture of the game right now. Eminem and Kanye adding excitement to an otherwise BORING Hip-Hop scene. If it wasn’t for those two, Nas would be a prophet!

jus me, or do boi 1da and drake give an unconscious nod to the “gay fish” melody in the chorus?
