Young Turbo sits down with MySpace Today to discuss his artistry. “I didn’t have any aspiration to be a superstar. I really just wanted to have a job.” Ha! He also talks about battling Busta Rhymes in high school.

I agree that Vol. 1 would’ve been a classic with the right song selection, but it’s still the best in the trilogy. Agree? Disagree?

Nas is my favorite MC of all time, but whenever I listen to Jay-Z interviews I’m struck by how Jay is so much more coherent than Nas….

“just cause you don’t understand him don’t mean that he nice, just means you don’t understand all the bullshit that he writes.”

that’s because Jay-Z stopped smoking weed in the 80′s…Nas just stopped last night before he went to sleep.

I liked all 3 too but I think Vol.2 might be a little better the vol.1…

vol.1 is still classic to me, too many gems on there to be ruined by 3 average songs…

It irked Jay that making radio-friendly music cost him having two classics in a row… so he goes on to make nearly the rest of his catalog full of radio-friendly music. I swear I’ll never fucking understand this dude.

I do, however, love to hear dudes as old as Jay reminisce about their earlier days. I think I’d give a limb to hear teenage versions of Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes battle.
