Word on the street is that Mandate Pictures has picked up the teen dance drama script Dream On from Jason Ubaldi for Laurence Mark to produce. According to Variety, the plot revolves around an aspiring Olympic gymnast who discovers the underground hip-hop scene in Atlanta.
Our neighbors at Film Drunk offered a brilliant pitch for the movie, but I think Vince forgot one essential ingredient – Rosa Acosta. This movie needs Rosa Acosta. I know, I know, Rosa’s not a real life gymnast but since when do you have to be good at gymnastics to play one in a movie? Besides, Rosa is a trained ballet dancer and professional stretch performer. That has to count for something. No?
