Some of you nearly castrated me for suggesting that 50 Cent’s “Flight 187″ contained a dig at Jay-Z. Well, it appears that someone in Jay’s camp has brought that clip to his attention. While he didn’t respond to it directly (he wasn’t asked), he went out of his way to point out that “no one is scared of 50 Cent” while responding to a question about Kanye’s VMA stunt.
Here’s what Jigga said to BBC’s Trevor Nelson:
“I think he would have done it if it was 50 Cent. No one’s scared of 50 Cent. I just want everyone to be clear, no one’s scared of 50 Cent.”
Really? Of course Jay was going to stick up for his boy, but I seriously doubt that Kanye would’ve pounced on stage, snatched the mic from 50 Cent and still make it back to his seat in one piece. Tony Yayo would have slapped the Cognac out of his ears somewhere in the middle of all that.
Jay went on to say that he thought Kanye’s rant was rude, and that he screamed at Kanye in the back of the car and later put him on timeout. But not in those words.
