Shaq is the perfect example of staying in the now. Now that he’s signed to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Shaq has gone on record to say that the Cavs is the best team he’s ever played on. Never mind that he won 3 championships in L.A. where he played alongside Karl Malone, Gary Payton, and that other guy.
Shaq is also heads over heels in love with the man he’s replacing at the starting Center position, Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
Says Shaq:
”I don’t really look at it as taking Z’s spot; I look at it as us working together,” O’Neal said. ”I said before, me and him on the same team, we are the best center in the NBA.”
Hey Z, how do you feel about that?
”I’ve always been high on Shaq,” Ilgauskas said. ”He’s the best center I’ve ever played with, so if anyone is going to replace me in the starting lineup, I don’t mind that it’s going to be him at all.”
Shaq’s arrival sends Big Z to the bench for the first time in 11 years. Unfortunately, Dwight Howard will still run circles around both guys. In fact, Cavs will need more than two slow, aging Centers if they plan on winning a championship this season.
