Nas & Damian Marley: As We Enter

View Comments 25 January 2010

There was nothing intrinsically wrong with ‘Strong Will Continue’ the first leak of the Nas & Damian Marley collaboration ‘Distant Relatives’. But it wasn’t Nas & Damian going back and forth over a Mulatu Astatke sample like the snippet we heard somewhere in the summer of ’09. Now the full version has arrived and my repeat button will soon break down. These events are certainly related. More (including tracklist & production credits) after the jump.

  1. ATI says:

The bits from the EPK sounded better than the first two records imo, though it might be the case that they end up sounding less mediocre in the context of the album.

Still, the K’naan placements give me hope.

    No Lauryn feature. :(

  3. GetEmGenius says:

As We Enter was fire, pretty much the only song I liked so far that leaked. Too bad it was only 2 verses, shoulda gone harder with a third or atleast a bridge from the jr jong

[...] As We Enter: This album does not have a traditional “intro” nor does it need one. “As We Enter” is the perfect introduction to the album as Nas & Damian set the tone for the album by showcasing their undeniable chemistry by sparring back & forth on this track. The beat is up-tempo, and though this is one of the less-lyrical and less “deep” songs in terms of subject matter, it definitely serves its purpose and is placed perfectly on the album. 4.5/5 [...]
