Behold the CD packaging for Freeway and Jake One’s Stimulus Package, courtesy of Brent Rollins, same artistic mastermind behind the Ego Trip series. I believe that Freeway and Rhymesayers have just elevated the album packaging game. Then again, no one does packaging like Rhymesayers. Remember the P.O.S. Never Better artwork?
The Stimulus Package arrives February 16th 2010.

I’m definitely buying it just cause of that. Hell I’d buy a Soulja Boy album if they came up with creative packaging like that.
I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I first heard about the packaging in march of 09. Music ain’t half bad neither, of course.
Insanely cool, I was probably buying this album anyway based on the talent involved but this makes it a no-brainer.
Sidenote: How come cool sh*t like this only happens on indie labels? Stones Throw, Lex Records, Rhymesayers, they all did innovative stuff with goodlooking packaging but when do you see something like this from a Sony BMG or a Interscope? All they do is complain that nobody is buying their stuff. How about trying to offer the consumer something they can’t download?
J to the AAP, exactly!
It was disappointing to open HHNF and find a little 3 panel insert, and I can’t remember the last time anything knocked my socks off. The poster in the Wale album was cool, but nowadays we can’t even get a full booklet insert. Does it really save that much money?
Featuring Reakwon??
Nice.
some cool shit.
creative packaging always been an indie forte. any new trends on packaging for digital music? the typical 12 mp3s, front and back cover jpegs are … passé?
