Garnett on Durant: “Michael F*cking Jordan”

I like Durantula, but “Michael F*cking Jordan” is a pretty catchy nickname for Durant. I wonder if it’ll stick. On a serious note, I know LeBron is already a lock for MVP this year, but Durant deserves that award more than anyone else this season. I still meet people who give me a blank stare when I tell them there’s an NBA team in Oklahoma. Dude steered the Thunder to its first playoffs, while playing an all-around individual game. His 29.7 PPG is tops in the NBA. Sounds like an MVP season to me.

    The C’s have been looking like scrubs lately, but Durant was getting those calls easy.

    I hope to see more from the thunder, and really hope the Celtics can hold their own in the playoffs. Get on your shit KG.

    your nuts if you think the celtics get calls….players get calls not teams…kobe wade melo lebron and now apparently durant (he does belong in the same category now) all get the questionable calls…and i know im late on this post but did anyone see how quick the refs were T-in people up in that celtics cavs game and then lebron openly yells at the refs 2 times and no call…

    First of all LBJ is scoring leader at the moment and PPG does not = MVP. Beyond that Durant isn’t even close in the MVP race this year. The famous were would they be with an average player in his place game is highly useful: Cavs without LBJ maybe .500 fighting for playoff spot, Thunder without Durant not a playoff team but not a precipitous fall off. If you want to be a stat junkie: take a look at win shares and LBJ is head and shoulders above anyone in the league and near historical levels. If you don’t: simply look at the holes in Durant’s game his defense isn’t there and he is turnover prone. He is a great player that will have years of success but this year is not an MVP year.

    To whomever spoke the sacrilege of LBJ in NY: fuck you.
