“July 1, 2010 is going to be a very, very big day” – LeBron James
Haven’t you heard? LeBron James will become a free agent on midnight of July 1 2010. There are 83 other free agents this summer, but their free agency is not as free as LeBron’s. So, back to LeBron. As I was saying, Spike Lee will be waiting outside his door at midnight on 7/1/10 ready to offer the King a film deal on a gold plate, if he’ll just sign with the New York Knicks.
Ultimately, what happens between now and July 1st will not only determine the next NBA champion, it will determine whether or not BP finds a cure for that oil mess. It’s all connected somehow, believe me.
Will he go? Will he stay?
Will he sign with Olympiakos for $11 billion or will he go play for the Buckeyes?
If he decides to leave, will he kill Delonte West for banging his mom?
If he stays, will he ask Cavs owner Dan Gilbert to make him the first player to ever coach and play for the same team? Will he play with his head band on or off?
These and many other questions will be addressed throughout the course of this summer. In the words of a very, very wise man, “July 1, 2010 is going to be a very, very big day.”
