We learned three things after the 2010 NBA Finals: Kobe Bryant won his 5th chip, Phil Jackson now has more rings than fingers, and Ron Artest is still the NBA’s king of post-game interviews. As always, players and coaches from both sides had plenty to say after the Finals. I’ve plowed through the chatter to bring you the 10 most memorable quotes from the 2010 NBA Finals.

10. Doc Rivers on losing Kendrick Perkins before Game 7:

“The starting lineup still hasn’t lost. They still haven’t had a chance to properly defend their title.”

9. Ron Artest celebrating the big win during a post-game interview:

“First, I wanna thank everyone in my hood.”

8. Ron Artest on where he’s going to celebrate:

Screw Disneyland, I’m going to Compton.”

7. Nate on his relationship with Glen Davis:

“We’re like Shrek and Donkey.”

6. Doc Rivers before Game 6:

“When you trust, you play free. When you play free, you can’t be beat. It’s not about the where, it’s about the how.”

5. Ron Artest on hitting a big trey in crunch time:

“Kobe passed me ball. He never passes me the ball, but he passed me the ball. I heard Phil’s voice in my head — you know Phil is the Zen Master, he doesn’t need a microphone to talk to you — I heard him say: “Ron, don’t shoot, don’t shoot.” I said, “Whatever”  and I shot a 3!”

4. Marcus Jordan on Kobe vs MJ:

“NO ONE…And I mean NO ONE should EVER com par kobe Bryant to my dad an say that he is anywhere near close to my dad He’s jagging this game.”

3. Derek Fisher on Kobe Bryant’s place in basketball lore:

“Does he belong in the [greatest of all-time] conversation? Sure. But what’s interesting about the conversation is that he’s nowhere near being done.”

2. Kobe Bryant on the significance of his 5th championship:

“I got one more than Shaq. So, you can take that to the bank.”

1. Shaq to Kobe:

“Congratulations Kobe, u deserve it. U played great. Enjoy it man enjoy it. I know what ur saying ‘Shaq how my a– taste.’ ”

Ha! Guess who called the Shaq-Kobe thing correctly two years ago? Oh, and I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear of the Finals, so feel free to add to the list and honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions
Bill Simmons on Phil Jackson’s legacy: “I think he [Jackson] is Top 5. I can’t give him No. 1 though. [Red] Auerbach won 8 straight.”

Jeff van Gundy on Phil Jackson’s legacy: “The enormity of being in 13 finals and successfully coaching the best players who have ever played the game and never being afraid of coaching them, I think people overlook that part of his greatness.”
