The Boondocks Season 3, Episode 7
“The Fun-Raiser” sees Riley living out his fantasy of becoming the kingpin of the school candy business. Along with Cindy McPhearson, Riley floods the street with his special brand of candy. As the saying goes, you can plan a picnic but you can’t predict the weather. Things eventually go awry as Riley runs into an unexpected twist in this plot.
Huey has a diminished role in this episode, as has been the case throughout Season 3. Aside from a few scenes where he plays his typical cynical bastard role, Huey is reduced to an “I told you so” moment in this episode. I find that interesting, given that Huey always struck me as McGruder’s personal voice in the comic series.
