If you’re seating on the edge of your seat salivating for the next episode of The Boondocks, you either need a child or a second job to occupy that so-called schedule of yours. But you’re also awesome because Boondocks is totally worth stanning for. That’s the good news. The bad news? Well, you’ll have to find a way to satisfy your Boondocks withdrawals for another week or so, because the show is on vacay this weekend. They probably needed time to regroup after that blowing all that smoke in our face in Episode 12.
When The Boondocks returns with “The Fried Chicken Flu” on August 1 it will be looking to ruffle some feathers. Chicken feathers, that is. Episode 13 of Season 3 is expected to be a scathing indictment of evil fried chicken behemoth KFC. If it’s anything like the anti-BET episode, then it will have been worth the wait. The plot seeks to answer this very question: What would happen if chicken were to become illegal in the United States? If your guess is that a rash of massive riots would break out throughout the country, then you’re on target. But you know this one will be full of surprising twists and turns that only McGruder can conjure.
So, back up a bit in that seat of yours. It’ll be a long, grueling weeklong wait. You can always use this free time to read a book, listen to that Shad album you downloaded 2 months ago or babysit your neighbor’s cat. Find a way to make yourself useful.
