After plugging Preemo’s Concrete Dreams in my 2010 Halftime Report, I realized that the reason it’s so underrated is that people haven’t even heard it. Worse still, the album is damn near impossible to find online. So, I tracked down Preemo himself and asked for a copy to share with TRU Nation. When I met him, dude was out in the parking lot hustling his CD to whoever would listen. This was less than 2 hours after he performed before a small, local crowd. Hustle on a hundred thousand trillion.
Anywho, Concrete Dreams will probably go unnoticed for a while, but that’s okay. Preemo is so proud of his latest opus he could die a content soul. And for good reason; Concrete Dreams is enjoyable from cover to cover. It’s the kind of music Kanye was making when he first broke out – dark, raw, personal. This kid is going to be a headache once he figures out what to call himself (there’s only room for one Primo in hip-hop).
