When I first saw this tweet from @kanyewest, my initial reaction was that he’s either trying to get people talking or he’s been hitting that Henny bottle again.
While Kasseem is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished producers in the game, I’m sure Kanye can think of 10 producers that make Swizz “I’ve been recycling the same sound since 2001″ Beatz look ordinary. The more I thought about that tweet, though, the more I realized that ‘Ye was dead serious.
The thing is, dude has an impulsive nature. He was bumping “Fancy” and having one of those moments where you’re so moved by a song that you immediately think it’s the illest shit you ever heard. I had one of those moments while listening to Death Is Certain a couple days ago. It immediately dawned on me that I couldn’t name 7 living emcees who can hold their own bar for bar with Royce and come out unscathed.
But if Kanye had done his research he would’ve realized that the best part of “Fancy” (the break) wasn’t even produced by Swizz Beatz. So, what Kanye was trying to say is that Noah “40” Shebib is the greatest rap producer of all time.
