Someone opened the floodgates of underground hip-hop this month but no one’s complaining. Good music is good music. Here’s a rundown of what’s hitting your record stores and neighborhood bootleg corner in August.

10. Exile – AM/FM
In our interview with Exile, we learn that he’s in a creative zone right now. If you’re not familiar with his work, Below The Heavens is a good place to start.
Street Date: August 31, 2010

9. The Pack – Wolfpack Party
The Pack turned a song about Vans into a summer smash. Wolfpack Party finds them partying hard and jamming harder.
Street Date: August 24, 2010

8. Camu Tao – King of Hearts
Listening to Camu’s album made me realize that we lost an innovative mind. Production-wise, this is one of the year’s best releases. Street Date: August 17, 2010

7. El-P Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3
El-Producto’s new album makes me want to sing along and there are no vocals.
Street Date: August 3, 2010

6. Blu – Her Favorite Colo(u)r
Blu’s cult favorite finally gets a release date two years after it first surfaced on the web.
Street Date: August 24, 2010

5. Madlib – Advanced Jazz
Madlib’s influences run deep and wild and he’s been highlighting them one genre at a time all year. This month’s installment showcases the jazz records that inspired him.
Street Date: August 31, 2010

4. Wale – More About Nothing
Wale’s sequel to Mixtape About Nothing is superior to his album and just as good as his 2008 mixtape. This one offers more Seinfield samples and more rhymes about being underappreciated.
Street Date: August 3, 2010

3. DJ Muggs & Ill Bill – Kill Devil Hills
Everytime you start to forget about the legendary DJ Muggs, he does something to remind you that he’s still going strong. Teaming up with Bill won’t get him any new fans but it’ll definitely boost his already dope catalog.Street Date: August 24, 2010

2. Freddie Gibbs – Str8 Killa EP
Gibbs released Str8 Killa mixtape to pave the way for this EP. Download the Str8 Killa, No Filla mixtape, then go cop his EP.
Street Date: August 3, 2010

1. Bun B – Trill OG
It’s really a shame that those 5 mikes will eventually overshadow the actual music on Trill OG. It’s a shame because this is the best installment in the Trill series.
