Tru Life, a rapper formerly signed to Jay-Z’s Roc-La-Familia has been sentenced to 10 years in the pokey for his role in a fatal 2009 stabbing in New York, according to AllHipHop.com.
Tru Life (known to his momma as Roberto Rosado, Jr.) was charged with assault and second-degree murder in June 2009 following the death of Christopher Guerrero in a Manhattan apartment building. Another man was seriously injured during the attack.
Tru Life initially entered a plea of “not guilty” to the murder charge and was held by authorities without bail. Police had fingered Tru Life’s brother Marcus in a shooting outside Pacha nightclub. Authorities believed the stabbing was connected to the club shooting.
Tru Life later made a plea deal for second-degree murder and on Wednesday, February 16 he was handed a 10-year sentence. His brother Marcus received a 12-year prison sentence for role in the murder and assault.
