Some of you are hearing about the League of Extraordinary Gz for the very first time, so here’s a primer. The League is an Austin-based hip-hop collective. There are three groups within the group: Da C.O.D. (Mr. Greezo, S. Dot, Tuk-da-Gat and Lil J); Dred Skott (Reggie Coby & Esbe); and Southbound (Lowkey and Sandman). You might not remember all those names, but once you’ve heard them you’ll never forget their sound. All three groups are special in different ways, but Dred Skott may be the strongest.

The League has one item on its to-do list for 2011: be prolific. They unleashed the feel-good anthem “We Gon’ Make It” and the accompanying Loft-N-Austin mixtape a couple months back. Today, they teamed up with Rapid Ric and DJ Booth for the unveiling of their latest work, Concealed Weapons 3. All eight members of LOEGz are here. Reggie Coby, one half of Dred Skott, handled the bulk of the production on Concealed Weapons 3 with additional boardwork from Jake One, Cookin’ Soul, and Matt Schad. The beats are fresh and theses dudes can rap their asses off. Get familiar.
