We were just kidding with the illegally tapped phone conversations but it seems like it may have even hit a wee bit closer to home than we expected. HTC just layed down $300 million for a 51% stake in Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine’s ‘Beats By Dre’ headphone hustle. Expect them to be coupled with new batches of Android phones in packages full of hi-tech swag. It’s all fine and dandy that they give these phones some decent headphones but I’d rather have them finally integrate gapless play for mp3′s into their software. It’s the only department in which Apple still has a leg up on Android and it’s really annoying when I try to listen to a mixtape with some actual mixing.
