Happy birthday Nas! And on this day, the man has some good news for fans; he’s writing his autobiography together with Touré. Common is dropping his autobiography ‘One Day It’ll All Make Sense’ next week, Prodigy dropped one filled to the brim with awesome anecdotes earlier this year and now Nas gives us hip-hop bookworms more to nerd out to next year. With his youth in Queensbridge, the various beefs, including one of the most historic in rap, behind the scenes stories of some the greatest rap records and his dealings with industry rule number 4089 there should be more than enough to fill an engrossing book. It’s tentatively titled ‘It Ain’t Hard To Tell’ and publisher Harper Collins is aiming for a fall 2012 release date. Hopefully just in time for my next birthday…

This is hip-hop history,” Touré wrote on Twitter on Monday. “I’ve been talking to Nas about writing his autobiography for 15 years … We’ll tell his life and deconstruct some songs.” While Touré defended his right to “co-author” another person’s autobiography, he also clarified that the book will tell Nas’s whole story, not just his heyday. “A memoir is about a certain period in your life. An autobiography is about your whole life.

1982 was when Jaap van der Doelen aka J.Monkey shot his way out his mom dukes. A mere two years later he was already battling Big Brother and The Illuminati. Whenever he has time to spare from those efforts he writes (about music, mostly), hosts a radio show and designs graphics for a living. He lives in The Netherlands where he continues to be winning.
