When the members of High Society announced they were leaving the Christian music market and dropping a song called “Devil” on Halloween, an extremist pocket of the online gospel rap community immediately started Tebowing.
But now that the track has hit the net, a few things are clear:
- They haven’t lost their religion.
- They’re tired of being associated with Satan and believe such misguided attempts at dissension may actually be the work of the evil one.
- They’re still concerned with making hip hop related high art.
Sure, it sounds like a leftover from Kanye’s Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but it’s nice to hear the HS crew directly address their critics.
