Now that Drake has responded, the one-sided slamfest has a chance of turning into an actual batlle. While I don’t think Drizzy stands much of a chance against Mr. Sense his skill he does hold the card of never directly provoking Common. That might not seem like much but it does allow Drake the play the “jealous old rapper” card. Pretty sure this ain’t over yet…

Round 1: Album track ‘Sweet’ is rumored to diss Drake.

Round 2: Drake calls out Common to address him directly if he has a problem with during a performance in LA.

Round 3: Common confirms Drake “fits into the character” of a target on ‘Sweet’ in a radio interview with Sway.

Round 3.5 Bonus: Pusha T puts in his two cents over the ‘Sweet’ instrumental, mashed together here in the ‘Sweet Beef Mix.’

Round 4: Drake responds on Rick Ross mixtape track.

Round 5: Common tacks on a verse for the ‘Stay Schemin’ remix,’ includes not clear words in the accompanying cover picture.

…To be continued…

1982 was when Jaap van der Doelen aka J.Monkey shot his way out his mom dukes. A mere two years later he was already battling Big Brother and The Illuminati. Whenever he has time to spare from those efforts he writes (about music, mostly), hosts a radio show and designs graphics for a living. He lives in The Netherlands where he continues to be winning.

  1. I’m curious as to what Drake’s going to say now that Common has said his name…the way he was sounding at the concert, it was like he was actually trying to see Common with the hands, hahahahahahaha
