Drop your answer in the comment box between now and 1/15/12, be a U.S. resident, and make sure you use the same name on FB as you do here (so we know it’s you). Good Luck.

  1. My favorite TRU series/section is TRU Brain Trust/BT review. The majority of album reviews are only written by one person, so you have to take it with a grain of salt. But with the BT reviews, I can get a variety of viewpoints that can help paint a clearer picture of how the album turned out. I like the variety that the TRU team brings to the table.

  2. A few months ago I would have said Cuban Linx (I mean, come on), but your newer series Classics Revisited hits home for me.  For us twenty-somethings, we came of age after that classic hip hop era, and while Revisited is not intended as a tour guide to the classics, I use it as such. Its a great TRU section that really hits a good note for those of us in this group, and is probably one of the best recruiting tools that TRU has to offer.  Thanks y’all.

  3. My favorite feature is the Cuban Linx posts.  Love me some good looking girls of course! haha! But the reason I check this site regularly is the hip hop and the opinions of some trusted bloggers.

  4. I know it’s not an feature per se, but I like the opinion pieces on the site the most. I agree with most of the sentiments, so it’s always great to see minds who think alike, but you all do a great job of expressing those opinions and backing up your case. I especially respect J. Monkey’s ability to articulate his opinion with those pieces. The recent Andre 3000 joint is only an example, but that’s my favorite part of the site.

That said, not sure if that qualifies as a feature/series/category, so a close runner up would be the TRU Brain Trust. Makes me think of the way The Source editors used to get together and hash out their mic ratings back in the day.

  5. My favorite TRU series is the Classic Revisited. I get a first look on the classics I’ve never heard and see another 1990-er’s opinion on the ones I have. Though I can’t agree with any hating on The Low End Theory, c’mon dude that album will always be dope as dope can be.

  6. I am a big fan of the Brain Trust as well but I also appreciate the Hip-Hop 101 posts. good stuff all around. in the Brain Trusts I always enjoy seeing the variation of ratings amongst the writers. some loved it some hate it.

  7. What’s your favorite TRU feature/series/category/whatever?
I have to go with Cuban Linx. It’s not just the ladies, which is a nice added touch. But it’s more about the information. Sometimes I miss stuff. And the CL provides some interesting things.

  8. Not gonna lie, this is my first time visiting the site. I’ve taken my time to look through the series/ categories and my favorite one would have to be the mixtapes section! I found it useful because I was looking for some new songs and I was able to find ones I really like through here. Gonna have to visit this site more often! Keep it up :)

  9. My favorite section would have to be the album reviews! i love the honest opinions of the reviewers and I also like the cuban linx section as well.

  10. Keeping it a 100 with you, but Cuban Linx is by far my fav…..always have good articles ;). The whole site is always updated with stories these other outlets don’t get! Thanks for what you do!

  11. Gotta be the TRU Brain Trust.  Let’s me know whether it’s worth my hard earned to buy the album or not.

  12. I used to just drop in and peep some new music (and the Cuban Linx) but I’ve been hooked on the TRU Braintrust reviews since they went in on Watch The Throne and almost went to blows on Frank Ocean. Keep it friendly ya’ll!

  13. Snap Judgement is my favorite section. I always read reviews and wonder sometimes if people don’t spend too much time picking songs apart. I wanted to know how people felt immediately afterwards, and snap judgement does that. It’s an intriguing part of the listening process, and your features really help shed more light on the experience from an expert’s point of view.

  15. I already ‘liked’ the fan page ages ago. J. Monkey and Aaron stay hitting with all their features, so I gotta say that would be my favorite part. I come here to read good pieces about the game, where the focus is music, but the social consciousness of J’s pieces really resonates with me as well.

  16. My favorite TRU section would definitely have to be Music | Mixtapes. I’m an underground music lover & about 60% of my iTunes music collection has been influenced by it. I always stop pass your Mixtape section to get my fill on the latest and dopest mixtapes out. It”s simple, clear and very current. There’s none other that could compare. Thanks Team TRU.

    Form me & my iTunes;)

  17. I’m new to the site but the reviews were interesting and thorough.

  18. Cuban Linx is my fav! It’s funny as heck!

  19. My favorite TRU feature is this dope beats by dr dre headphone contest! Everybody else offers crappy prizes most of the time & I never win! Everybody wants a pair of dr dre’s and your site seems like the awesomest!

  20. i love the various opinions in the brain trust reviews, and i enjoyed the links in the Cuban linx series
