This one is straight from an episode of The Boondocks. MSNBC is reporting that one man was fatally shot and accidentally run over at a video shoot in Philadelphia.
The shooting happened Thursday night at N 5th and Tabor in the Olney area. About 100 people were present when a yet-to-be-identified 33-year-old man was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Here’s police chief Scott Small with the tragic details. “He collapsed on the street in the 500 block of Tabor and during all the confusion he was run over by a vehicle trying to get out of the area after hearing the gunshots.” Yikes.
Police had to watch a rough cut of the video to figure out who did the shooting. They ended up taking three men with guns into custody, including the shooter. Authorities don’t know what prompted the shooting, but so far they don’t plan to arrest the shooter. My guess is accidental shooting, but who knows?
When @Nahshon tipped us off on this story, I quickly checked the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1. This is terrible on so many levels. I can’t imagine the palpable grief that man’s family must be feeling. Sending positive vibes to everyone involved.
