Alchemist has been a bit of a conundrum in hip-hop for a long time. A producer that’s as much at home delivering grimy headnodders for Queens gangsters as delivering psychedelic bangers with Oxnard homie Oh No, he manages to straddle the line between underground and mainstream, b-boy and gangster and everything in between like few others. Oh, and he does it while rarely missing a step in crafting captivating beats. Decon is releasing a new solo-project of the beatsmith, and the track list is pretty bonkers. Especially that joint with Danny Brown and Schoolboy Q is something I wouldn’t mind hearing yesterday.
