If you were expecting a sophisticated and emotionally resonant exploration of the hardship slavery brought on the people suffering under it, the psychic wounds it caused, all the while considering the economic implications of how the largest economy on earth was birthed through the blood and sweat of people robbed from their native countries to be abused on another continent, and shedding light on the philosophical and moral debate that eventually led to a civil war in the modern world’s first and foremost democracy, I’d say you’ve never seen a Quentin Tarantino movie (and I’d say, maaaaan, you construct some long-ass sentences in your head).
If however, you’re looking for a movie that promises to kick all kinds of derriere while strapping on boots with spurs to seriously injure some toes, this trailer seems to give you exactly what you ordered. Watch the trailer in all its DiCaprio-scenery-chewing, Waltz-creepy-charisma-oozing, Kerry Washington-beatiful-looking and Foxx-one-line-delivering (“the D is silent”) glory and be prepared for awesomeness. Serious awesomeness.
Did I mention I’m excited?
