Dutch rapper Duvel is releasing a collaborative album with produver Nikes entitled DNA. Over the span of his career, Duvel has always been a idiosyncratic artist and released various impressive special editions for each of his albums. His latest release however, goes all out with a run of 282 customized sidewalk tiles donning the logo for the album and snugly fitting the CD casing inside. Take a peek at the production process above and watch a short promotional film for the album called Dead Pigeon below.

The album can be picked up in Dutch record stores by the end of this week but you won’t have an easy time to find one that ships it around the world, the price tag for shipping a brick would probably be quite hefty.

1982 was when Jaap van der Doelen aka J.Monkey shot his way out his mom dukes. A mere two years later he was already battling Big Brother and The Illuminati. Whenever he has time to spare from those efforts he writes (about music, mostly), hosts a radio show and designs graphics for a living. He lives in The Netherlands where he continues to be winning.

Shit I Wish Rappers Still Cared About Special Editions I Fucking Hate When I Go To Buy an Album And The Special Edition Is Two Fucking Bonus Songs On iTunes 1) I’ve Never Bought Anything Off iTunes and 2) I’m A Huge Supporter Of Physical Media, I Still Buy Albums The Day Of And Some Times Two When The Limited Or Special Edition Prove Worth While, but This Would Make any person Buy An Album, Just Saying That’s Inventive Marketing.
