Compiling a top ten of critical songs about the state of the nation or American society crossed my mind, as did a list of controversial hip-hop cover art involving the stars ‘n stripes. But I feel like I did the first one already sometime ago somewhere and it’s not that original anyway (put on Co-Flow’s ‘Patriotism’ any PE album or one of Cube’s first two if you wanna hear what the top half of that list would sound like) and egotripland already quite excellently beat me to the punch on the latter.
So instead here’s a gallery of Captain America kicking ass and taking names as drawn by the co-creator of Cap, the indomitable and awesome king of comics Jack Kirby. Happy Fourth of July to all of my American friends, enjoy the BBQ!
