With many of the victims of the Aurora shooting at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises having no health care insurance, they’re looking at another potential tragedy after they rise above their current one. Despite some of the hospitals and several people already stepping up to help out, it’s still hard to say how the bills for these people will shape up. The composer of the trilogy’s score Hans Zimmer has joined those trying to help out and does so in a very fitting and admirable way.
Aurora is an 8.5 minute solemn piece with some nods to The Dark Knight Rises score in it, and is for sale on iTunes for $1.29 or through the widget above for $0.10 or more. All proceeds go to the victims of the shooting.
Some critics have blasted the score for The Dark Knight Rises for being overbearing (despite it’s fittingly dramatic percussion smartly contrasting with quiet moments like the little boy singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” a capella), a criticism I understand though I don’t necessarily agree with it. Whatever your feelings about Hans Zimmer’s tunes though, you can’t deny this is a class act. Throw some cents at this if you’ve got any to spare, anything helps.
