If you’re in the market for some mean afrobeat funk (and why wouldn’t you be?) then Antibalas is here to deliver. From the same fam that brought you Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Budos Band and The Menahan Street Band comes another sonic excursion well worth your time. I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed by a Daptone release and the same probably goes for Fiend, Curren$y, Jay-Z or any of the other emcees that mind their deceptively vintage sounds for sampling material. If this single is any indication than the Antibalas album won’t disrupt the winning streak. The video I’ve just decided to dub The Muppets Occupy Wall Street is pretty dope too. The self-titled Antibalas album is out August 6th.
